CND Vinylux for a lasting manicure

18.6.14

I have a really hard time with manicures. I have really supple (but very healthy) nails that bend very easily. They rarely break, but it causes nail polish to chip really easily. Enter summer into the equation, with the outdoor work, the copious amounts of time in the pool, and just more wear and tear in general, and a manicure will barely last 48 hours. The CND Vinylux polishes are my summer saviours! Read on for more details.

L to R: Svelte Suede, Tropix, Mint Convertible, Lobster Roll, Top Coat
I tried the CND shellac a couple times. It completely destroyed my nail bed. Never, ever again. So at first I was hesitant to try these. but they are completely different. No base coat required, just start applying the polish directly to clean nails. These have a great consistency, and all the colours I own are opaque in 2 coats. It has an odd finish and dries down to a semi-matte latex-like look before the glossy top coat. The top coat doesn't require any special lamps, just natural UV light, and you can re-apply mid-week to maintain the shine. They last about a full week on me, with minimal tip wear by day 7. And the best part? They cost about the same as your typical OPI and Essie polishes. Score!

Lobster roll is my current fave, and has been in regular rotation since the warmer weather arrived.

Have you tried any CND Vinylux colours?

  1. I love this idea! My at-home manis last about three days - if I'm lucky. How difficult is this polish to take off? I used to be a loyal to Shellac, but was eventually so fed up with the long process of soaking your nails in acetone to remove the polish that I stopped using it.

  2. These polishes are super easy to remove. Just regular old nail polish remover does the trick! They also have the same colour range as the shellac polishes, so if you used to use those and have a colour you like, you should be able to find it :)

  3. ooh these sound so great! and look so pretty too. I haven't even tried shellac before my nails are already not the greatest so I'm afraid shellac will make them even worse! I might have to give these a try since the price isn't that bad either!
