DIY Leather Business Card Holder

Back with another DIY project today. You never know when an opportunity to network will arise, so it's a good idea to always have some business cards on hand. My wallet is already bursting at the seams, so having a cute business card holder is handy. Many companies such as Coach and Kate Spade make them, but why not DIY your own? Read on for the full instructions.

- Leather or faux-leather
- Template (print picture out on 8 1/2 x 11 paper)
- Multi-hole punch
- Button stud
- Scissors & pencil

I have been loving my Leather Making Kit from Wander & Hunt. They're my go to source for DIY supplies these days. I also used it to make the DIY Cord Taco and the DIY Cord Roll for travel.

Step 1: Trace your template onto the rough side of your leather and cut it out. Don't forget to mark where to punch holes.

Step 2: Use your multi-hole punch to holes on each side flap. These holes should only be big enough for the screw portion of the button stud to go through. Screw together your button stud through the two side flaps.

Step 3: Punch holes in the bottom and top flaps large enough to go over the top of the button stud (probably 2 punch sizes bigger). Secure the bottom in place. Add your cards before closing the top flap.

That's it! Depending on the thickness of your leather (mine is extra thick, real leather), you can secure that bottom flap into the screw portion of the button stud along with the side flaps. Either way works.

While this card holder probably won't replace my vintage briefcase card holder (seen in this post), it's great to toss in my purse and was a fun little project.

Hope you liked it!

  3. The newest idea in cards is the business card CD. These providers can be found on the Internet and in larger cities. Not everyone can make this type of card. Cheap Online Printing
