Wardrobe Restyle - Mood Boards

Hey there! Another Wardrobe Restyle post for you all today. Let's talk about mood boards, shall we?

Mood boards can be incredibly useful tools when looking for fashion inspiration. I like to have a small one on my wall all the time, and switch it up frequently. If you're having trouble defining your personal style, mood boards can help you look for patterns in the things you like. Keep reading for more photos!

Grab some magazines, flip through and pull out images that inspire you. They can be anything from fashion, beauty, words, or even home decor. In fact, I encourage you to not cut out just clothing photos. Pick prints, colours, nature photos, interior designs, a hairstyle. Anything! But don't pull out too many images, otherwise your collection can get overwhelming.

Group similar images together into themes. I like to create little labels too. For mine, I use cute washi tape to stick everything to an empty spot on my wall because it's easy to remove and doesn't leave a residue or pull up paint.

These are just a couple of things that are inspiring me lately, and fit with my style. I'm obsessed with stripes and chambray at the moment. And I prefer to work with a classic neutral palette, and then accessorize with different textures and pops of colour. And black shall always be my favourite color. #blackonblackonblack

Pinterest is also a great tool for virtual mood boards, and I frequently pin to both my Style Inspiration and Beauty Looks boards when I come across something I like. But there's just something so satisfying about creating a physical mood board that Pinterest can't quite capture. So go on, get crafty. If you create a mood board, I'd love to see it, so link it up in the comments below!

  1. I looooove "real" mood boards. I haven't been making as many since Pinterest overtook my life, but now I want to!

    1. Haha, I hear ya. Pinterest is so much fun, but there's something so nostalgic about creating a physical mood board :)

  2. This is amazing! I want to start making one now. =)
You have great pictures. What camera are you using?

    1. Thanks Amadea! If you make one, I totally want to see :)

I use a Sony Alpha300 for my photos. My dad gifted it to me when he upgraded last year :)
