Review - Formula X The System

I'm pretty sure I was really late to the game with this one. There has been so much hype around Sephora's Formula X Nail Polish, but it kind of fell under my radar. Maybe because I have such a love-hate relationship with nail polish (read more about my nail polish woes here). So when I saw this set in Sephora after the holidays, it seemed like a good enough deal to check it all out. Keep reading to hear my thoughts!

En Route Essentials - Bags for every occasion!

Today's En Route Essentials is all about my favourite bags for travel. Yes, that's multiple! As a frequent traveller, I've come to really appreciate how different bags have different functions, and some of them may even surprise you! Keep reading for all the details!

The Weekend Edit Vol. 28

I'm at the point where I could probably sleep for 2 days straight. After working 2 jobs for the last 10 days, I'm ready for a break! But today is the last day of the Montreal Auto Show, and I am sad to see my extended family go home. Back to your regularly scheduled programming tomorrow.

Hopefully going to take it easy this week, with nothing really exciting planned. I should get all my final details for my business trip to San Diego finalized this week though (oh yeah, did I mention that I'm going to San Diego in March?!? Yay!). What did you get up to this week?

As someone who flies frequently, this seating chart from Delta is both hilarious yet scarily almost true.

I totally want to make these leather magazine hangers from A Pair & A Spare!

Even police officers love Taylor Swift.

Need some fashion inspiration?! The Everygirl has 10 great Instagram accounts to follow.

I'm currently crushing over this blanket cape right now!

Winter Wardrobe Edit // Beauty Bits Vol. 4

Hope you're having a lovely weekend!

Beauty Bits Vol. 4

Another trip to Sephora brings another edition of Beauty Bits. Sephora just seems to suck me in these days. It's bad. Real bad. I also made a naughty trip to the WANT Apothecary, and [luckily] only left with what I was looking for. Want to know what I think about these products? Keep reading!

NARS Audacious Lipsticks in Anna & Audrey: I was so late to the game on these. How, I don't know, but thank goodness for Tiffany to bringing me up to speed!! If you saw this post, you'll know that Anna has been hanging around in my handbag a lot lately. It's such a unique mauve-ey pink that's perfect for every day wear...but with a bit of zing. I'm also totally smitten with Audrey. I can totally see Audrey Hepburn wearing this shade.

Aesop Rosehip Seed Lip Cream: While I'd have a really hard time ever letting go of my Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask, this Aesop Lip Cream comes in a very close second. While it's not a repairing for dry, chapped winter lips, it's absolutely luxurious feeling. It also dries down to a somewhat matte finish which is great for applying over lipstick midday for some added moisture.

Benefit Puff Off: There's a lot of hype around this product (as always seems to be the case with Benefit launches) and I think it's totally worth it. While it's not the most moisturizing eye product, and I still reach for an eye cream, it does wonders for tired puffy eyes. I'm constantly using this right now as I'm still working 2 jobs for the next couple days. Plus, how cute is the iron shaped tip?!?!?

Have you checked any of these out yet??

Winter Wardrobe Edit

My Winter Wardrobe Edit is here! I get really lazy when it comes to dressing in winter. My outfits are usually monochrome, and consist of a sweater and comfy pants combo. Not all that interesting huh. I'm trying to make more of an effort this winter, and while these pieces are still quite monochrome (black is my favourite color after all!), they each add a unique element to my wardrobe. Keep reading to see all of the pieces!

The Weekend Edit Vol. 27

Ahhhh, I finally have my feet up! My feet have been stuffed into high heels for the last 48 hours (except when I'm sleeping, although my feet remember right away when I wake up) and they are hurting. I've reprised my alter ego as a Jaguar girl for this year's auto show in Montreal. I'll be working 2 jobs for the next week, but hey, I can talk about cars for hours anyways so I consider it as fun ;).

The above shot is from the gala night, otherwise known as daddy-daughter-date-night. I went all out with my Kate Space speedometer watch, dashboard clutch, and race car shoes!! I've been waiting months to wear the complete ensemble!

In my downtime this week, here are a couple of cool things I've found:

I haven't posted an editorial piece in a while, but this one on Sierra Leone's Ebola doctor is great.

I totally want to make some wash tape skyline art for my place!

I've got total wanderlust right now and want to go everywhere in this list.

I'm very very very patiently waiting for Girls Season 4 to be available on iTunes!!

Serious necklace envy from this post on layering delicate necklaces. Apparently I need more delicate necklaces in my life!

En Route Essentials: Charging on the go // Lipstick Files Vol. 1 // Winter Mood Board

Hope you've had a lovely weekend!!

Winter Mood Board

You'll know from this post and my Fall Mood Board, that I'm a big fan of making seasonal mood boards. I tend to get lazy with my wardrobe in winter time and mostly stick to a monochromatic theme, but here are some inspirations I'm trying to incorporate!

Lipstick Files Vol. 1

As I'm pretty sure we're all aware by now, I'm a total lipstick addict. And I also have a really bad habit of throwing a lipstick in my bag for the day...and then never taking it out. It's always an embarrassing moment when I realize there's no more room in my purse because there are a dozen lip products in there. To try to help with this problem, I try to keep the lipsticks I'm currently using in this pouch. If it doesn't fit, it doesn't go in and time to swap one out! Keep reading to see what lipsticks are currently in rotation!

En Route Essentials - Charging on the go!

Today is the first installment of my En Route Essentials, and I'm talking charging on the go. I'm pretty sure there's always one thing that everyone forgets when they travel. For me, it's my phone charger. I have such a bad habit of forgetting it, that after having to purchase one in the airport in a mad panic, I just keep one in my travel case all the time now. So if you're traveling frequently enough, it may be a good idea to have a second dedicated charger, but I've got some other ideas for you as well... Keep reading for full details!

The Weekend Edit Vol. 26

This week was my first week back at work after a full 2 weeks off for the holidays, and man was it tough! Getting back into the running around, and meetings, and all that was easy, but I was seriously lacking concentration in the paperwork department. Hopefully I've got that out of my system now and this week will be better.

The cold snap in Eastern Canada continued into the weekend, and I made the executive decision yesterday that it was much too cold to go skiing (it wasn't really, but that was my excuse). So I headed off to the Jay Peak indoor waterpark with a friend and we had a blast! For a portion of the day we almost felt as if we were down south. Almost. If you live in the Montreal area (or Vermont/New Hampshire area) and haven't checked it out yet, you are seriously missing out. Great way to spent a cold winter day!

While I'm trying not to watch Downton Abbey so I can then binge watch it when my DVD comes in the mail at the end of the month, this video was HILARIOUS.

Here are some great fashion hacks for fixing "ruined" clothes. A must keep.

Laura's DIY cat toys shaped like junk food make me want a cat!!

Joelle celebrated her 1 year blogiversary this week! This girl is amazing, and if you don't read her blog then we have a problem here.

This outfit from Kenza is totally on point and just perfect.

And finally, Because I'm Addicted has some great makeup organization tips. I love love love her setup!

How to establish a basic skincare routine

What have you been up to this weekend?

How to establish a skincare routine

With the sheer magnitude of skincare products out there today, establishing a skincare routine can seem like a daunting task. Ingredients, formulations, oils, treatments. It can all seem quite complicated if you don't know where to start. All you want is your skin looking its best, right? Keep reading for my tips for establishing a basic skincare routine!

The Weekend Edit Vol. 25

Hey guys, I'm back! I've had the last two weeks off from work (perks of working in academia!) and decided to take a bit of a blogging break at the same time to fully enjoy the holidays.

The holidays were quiet and relaxing this year. My sister was home from school, and we went out to the cottage to celebrate Christmas. We spent most of the holidays just staying in and spending time catching up with friends and family. Not gonna lie though, did get some pretty sweet stuff in the after Christmas sales ;)

The last couple of days have been extremely unplugged for me as my phone spontaneously crashed right before midnight on New Years Eve, and I'm only bringing it in later on today. At first I felt like I had lost a limb (sad, I know), but now it feels kind of nice. Unfortunately, come back to work tomorrow, I'm going to need a working cell phone.

Speaking of New Years, the reaction to Taylor Swift's crop top is hilarious!

ELLE has the round-up of the top 5 selling shades of red lipstick in 2014.

These noodle jars look AMAZING!! Totally making them for lunch next week!

Finally, I know New Year's has come and gone, but I never really talked about resolutions. Hitha posted this great resolutions list and I decided to fill my answers out here.

A bad habit I'm going to break - Answering work emails while lying in bed.
A new skill I'd like to learn - How to draw fashion illustrations/sketches.
A person I hope to be more like - My grandmother. She was a smart, classy, and stylish woman!
A good deed I'm going to do - Do more home visits for my patients who can no longer travel to the clinic. Just to say hi.
A place I'd like to visit - Newfoundland! In September, during the Targa. Because...Cars!
A book I'd like to read - Maybe I'll finally get more than halfway through East of Eden.
A letter I'm going to write - To my Italian professor...without ANY help from Google Translate!
A new food I'm going to try - Indian...Yes, I've never tried Indian food.
I'm going to do better at - eating healthy!

How have you spent your holidays? Any resolutions? Anyone else experience a techno crash at midnight (kind feels like that should have happened in 2000)?
