Cleared for Takeoff with Ariane!

25.2.15

Welcome back! Today I'm really excited because I get to feature my amazing friend Ariane as the first guest in the "Cleared for Takeoff" series. Ariane is the fantastic blogger behind Julius + Valentina and a social media maven (don't forget to follow her on Instagram!). Always chic, she's done her fair share of travelling over the past couple of years. Paris, LA, Vegas, you name it. So without further ado, Ariane has been cleared for takeoff!

The Weekend Edit Vol. 32

22.2.15

First, I must apologize for the hiatus. But it's been a good break as I needed a bit of a recharge. I've been in Toronto for the past week working for Jaguar Land Rover, and head home tonight. Today's plans consist of spending time with my sister and saying goodbye to all my friends I'll see again only next year.

I also got to catch up with Joelle (from La Petite Noob) this week! It's always great getting together with a fellow blogger who understands what the blogosphere is like. We ate, we drank, and we laughed. Hopefully we can get together again soon!

Back to regularly scheduled content this week, but in the meantime, check out these fun links:

Taylor's music video for Style is finally here!

I laughed so hard it this next one. If "Friends" had been set in 2015! I can totally see Joey and Phoebe finding each other on Tinder

I've been contemplating what to do with my hair lately. I'm at a slightly longer than a lob length...but after seeing this post, it seems I'm right on trend! I might just keep it.

After hearing all about the laughs surrounding this post, I think Joelle's awesome Valentine's day outfit needed to be shared.

Even though it's not spring just quite yet, I'm in the mood to start some spring cleaning and do a little re-arranging in my loft. This article looks super helpful!

So the above picture pretty much sums up how I feel about Valentine's day. Like last year, I was all about #galentinesday as I got to spend the day with my lovely ladies at Jaguar for the Toronto Auto Show. Yup, I'm in Toronto over the next week and a bit. Time to catch up with my friends who live here, my sister, and have some great eats (I've already been to WVRST once, and I'm considering another trip there before it's time to go home).

Here are some fun links to keep you busy this Sunday:

I blog for fun, but for some people, fashion blogging is a serious business. Fashionista did a great piece on the expenses of fashion blogging.

These scones look delicious! Must try making these.

I love this list of most expensive buys in these fashionistas' closets. I'm definitely guilty of cheap impulse buys, and I've been working very hard to fix that and build a closet with quality, classic pieces.

How cute is this manicure! This might actually last on my nails because the design isn't too close to the tip.

Beauty Bits Vol. 5

13.2.15

I know my most recent Beauty Bits post wasn't all that long ago...but what can I say, the beauty purchases have just been sucking me in lately! This selection is definitely full of splurges, but they've been in heavy rotation as of late. Keep reading to hear what I think!

Glossier Phase 1 Review

What do you do when your favourite beauty-related website launches their own skincare line?? Obsess. When Into the Gloss released their skincare line, Glossier, back in the fall, I knew it would have to be mine. Unfortunately, they don't ship internationally yet (or to Hawaii either, which thwarted my plans to order it there while on vacation), so it took a bit of magic to finally get my hands on it. Flash forward one month after finally opening that sweet soft pink packaging, and I'm ready to give you my thoughts on the range. Keep reading for the full review.

It's snowing again. I think Mother Nature is determined to make my life miserable this week. Normally I don't mind (I actually like the snow), but this was the one week I was driving everywhere because I was dog sitting for my folks. The cold and snow calls for a big mug of tea and some relaxing today. What are your plans for the weekend?

Here are some things from the internet to keep you entertained this morning!

Loving this blurred lip look. Definitely going to try this out.

A great Buzzfeed piece on ma girl Taylor!

Has anyone tried the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-hour Full Coverage Foundation? I'm thinking of picking it up. Let me know in the comments below!

These are some great tricks for concealer. Every girl should know these.

The Weekend Edit Vol. 29

1.2.15

After an incredibly frustrating week at work, I'm so glad it's the weekend. I won't go into details, but after trying to be over-productive and getting nowhere, I've decided that this weekend I'm going to be very un-productive. And does it ever feel good. So did the 2 hour nap I took yesterday. Gotta be lazy sometimes!

We celebrated my dad's 60th birthday Friday night, and I busted out my Instax Mini for the guestbook. It was so fun to take photos of everyone who came. Now I want to start using my Instax more!

Well, I may be off to take another nap (shhh, don't tell anyone), so here are some things I found on the internet this week:

Proof why Emma Stone is totally one of my style icons. She is killing it on the red carpet lately! That jumpsuit with the giant bow with train is perfection, and it makes me want this jumpsuit.

Really cool photos of modern day with older photos that have been overlaid on top. I kind of want to try this now!

I'm not a big fan of Valentine's Day and think that most gifts are gimmicky or tacky...but these were way to cute to pass up.

Joelle and I are now bag twinsies! Congrats on the new purchase!

The girls over at A Beautiful Mess have done it again, and I'm definitely going to be signing up to this e-course.
