Morning Skincare Routine

22.4.15

Good morning! Time to dive right into skincare, shall we? Other than my morning espresso, a good skincare routine is one of my favourite ways to start a day. It just makes me feel like no matter what kind of day is ahead, at least I know that I did that one thing right. After sharing my skin story with you all, I'm kicking the skincare-themed posts off with my morning routine. Keep reading for all the details!

- Step 1: Cleanse -
Cleanser is the one product that I usually could care less about. I've consistently used Clinique's Liquid Facial Soap for the past 8 years, so the GLAMGLOW Super Cleanse Daily Clearing Cleanser is a new addition to my arsenal. I love how it starts off as a mud treatment, then foams up with the addition of water. Best used in the shower because it can be a bit messy.
Other cleansers I love: Clinique // Kiehl's

- Step 2: Tone -
I used to use heavy alcohol toners for ages, but now my skin just can't handle it. This Kate Somerville Clarifying Treatment Toner helps keep blemishes at bay and is gentle on my skin.
Other toners I love: Kiehl's

- Step 3: Treat -
I use two serums daily: the Chanel Le Jour to keep a cnet in check (it has salicylic acid in it!) and Philosophy Time in a Bottle for brightening (and hey, I guess the anti-aging properties don't hurt either). I'm on my second bottle of each, so that must mean something.
Other serums I love: Clinique

- Step 4: Moisturize -
I'm currently using two moisturizing products for my dehydrated skin. I still have "oily" but it's been soaking up moisture like crazy lately. Is it even possible to have dehydrated oily skin?? Anywho, I start with 1 pump of the Kiehl's Hydro-Plumping Serum and then add a layer of the Glossier Priming Moisturizer. As the weather gets warmer and heads into summer, I'll probably have to drop one of the two...last summer I used only the Kiehl's serum as a moisturizer, even though it's technically a serum, but that was pre-Glossier...We shall have to wait and see!
Other moisturizers I love: Kiehl's // Clinique

- Step 5: Eye Cream -
Ask me two years ago if I used an eye cream and I probably would have laughed at you. Now? Can't live without it. It really does make a huge different when it comes to under eye concealer. Eye cream is the only thing that I've actually been through 5 or 6 different brands since I started consistently using it. I tried Fresh Rose Eye Gel. Nope. Caudalie Polyphenol. No thank you. I'm currently back on a fave with the Kiehl's Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado, but will take suggestions as it seems I always want to try a new one!
Other eye creams I love: Bobbi Brown

I've only really established a good, solid skincare routine in the last couple of years (read more on how to establish a routine here), and it's made a world of difference to my skin. Stay tuned for my evening routine on Friday!

Any product recommendations for me? Did you see any of your faves here?

-Kris
