Spring - Wardrobe Edit

I find spring a much more awkward season to transition into than fall. Instead of gradually easing into it, it seems to make the switch from parka to trench coat rather suddenly. But then it fluctuates back into cooler, rainy weather, leaving you wondering what to wear. Layers are definitely a must for spring, but it's also the time to start incorporating some more colourful pieces into your wardrobe. Keep reading to see what I've picked up for the season!

Lace Up Flats - Free People, Sneakers - Converse
These taupe-coloured lace up flats were a Christmas gift and I'm just dying for some warmer weather so that I can start wearing them. Lace up flats (and heels for that matter) seem to be everywhere these days, and a really hot trend for the season. I also jumped on the white Converse bandwagon when my sister got an awesome pair. Just need one more scotch guard session before I feel confident enough to wear them out.

Crop Top - T by Alexander Wang, Skirt - T by Alexander Wang
I have been on the hunt for a set of matching coordinates for aaaaages, and finally caved on this set from T by Alexander Wang. Super cute, and also really comfy to wear, this outfit can be worn either casual (with the white Converse perhaps?) or dressed up with some heels and a red lip.

Striped Dress - Zara, Sweater Dress - Topshop
I've picked up two dresses so far this spring. I fell in love with the striped one after seeing Cara from A Fashion Love Affair wear it to NYFW. I love stripes, so it wasn't a hard sell. Paired with some booties and a trench and I'm good to go. The other is a more daring, fitted sweater dress from Topshop that I've worn at least once a week since I got it. Sadly I think it's a bit too short to be worn without tights, but it will see my through the cooler transition nicely.

J. Crew

I love my Madewell Transport Tote in black, but have had my eye on a camel-coloured tote for a while. When J. Crew was having 25% off all their accessories a while back, and I just happened to be in a J. Crew store (rare since we don't have one in Montreal) I took the plunge. Paired with this gorgeous drapey trench from Topshop and I've got outwear all set.

What pieces have you picked up for the transition into spring?
