Summer - Melt-proof Makeup

Dealing with oily skin on it's own is difficult enough. Add in summer heat, and it's a battle. The key to melt-proof summer makeup is long-lasting, no budge products. I've really been into the no-fuss, simple Nudestix pencils recently (I've raved about them here), and they make up the core of my summer routine lately. Combined with all of the traveling I've been doing lately and they're basically my saviours. Keep reading for all the details and the full look!

Great melt-proof makeup starts with a solid base, and a mattifying primer. My weapon of choice: Becca's Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector. It can be somewhat drying, so make you've moisturized first. I'll also go over any blemishes with the Nudestix Matte + Blemish pencil. To add a bit of hydration back, I like to apply a light layer of the Armani CC Cream, which has an SPF of 35 (bonus point!), followed by the Tarte Amazonian Clay Airbrush Foundation (read more about this foundation here). This powder foundation is almost creamy to the touch, and will set your base in place without looking cakey. Finish off any blemishes or under eye circles with the Nudestix Skin Concealer Pencil. Don't worry about blending creamy products over the powder foundation, because, as I mentioned, it's got a creamy finish itself so they will blend nicely.

For a simple eye look, I use the Nudestix Magnetic Eye Colors in Lilith (as an inner eyelid highlight) and Twilight (on the rest of the lid and into the crease). These are sweat-proof, waterproof, and will seriously not budge. I can then amp this look up for night with a quick flick of my Tom Ford Eye Defining Liquid Liner Pen. Finish it off with waterproof mascara. My fave? L'Oreal Voluminous' waterproof formula.

Keeping with the creamy product trend, I use Nudestix pencils for bronze, blush, and highlight. The Nudestix Bronzing Pencil is also a no-budge, waterproof formula and is oh so creamy (bonus point: you can also use them as eyeshadow). I love how easy it is to blend in with your fingers (bonus point: no tools required!). For blush, the Whisper end of the Nudestix Lip + Cheek Dual Pencil. For a subtle highlight, I like to use the Nudestix Eye Pencil in Stardust (bonus point: it also makes a great inner corner highlight, or an all over lid color).

Of course, the look isn't complete without filling in my brows. You've probably guessed by now that the Armani Eye & Brow Maestro is my all-time favourite, especially since it's waterproof. I've also really been loving the new L'Oreal Brow Stylist Plumper! I use the clear shade to just set my brows in place.

Finally, for lips, the other end of the Nudestix lip pencil, Mystique, has been my go-to shade recently! I'll then pop that and the Matte + Blemish pencil into my purse for the day.

I love that this is a really natural look, with a subtle contour/highlight, and easy options for amping it up for a night out. What are your key products for meltproof makeup for summer?
