The Weekend Edit Vol. 53

Long time no chat! I've [unfortunately] settled back into reality this week, and I'll be honest, it's been rough. I miss the carefree lifestyle of Hawaii, and the sound of my alarm going off every morning is dreadful. So bear with me as I slowly ease back into things, and get through editing the hundreds of photos I took while on vacation (photo diary + Oahu Top 10 coming soon!)

Not only am I gearing up for a crazy busy fall at work, the travel doesn't seem like it will be letting up either! In a span of 10 days in September, I'll be hitting up Boston, Ottawa and Quebec City, with only one night in my own bed at home. Add in birthdays, trying to soak up the last of the warm weather at the cottage, and my best friend's engagement party and I don't know how I'm going to fit it all in. Thank god for lazy Sundays and September Issues!

Speaking of September issues, I'm starting to curate my fall wardrobe and deciding which pieces to purchase in the coming weeks (while still totally enjoying summer to its fullest!). I know 70s is a major trend this Fall...but I'm not quite sure it's for me. Even crop tops I got on board with eventually, but I'm having a hard time with the 70s. So to my fellow fashionistas out there, any advice for me?? You've got a sense of my style through this blog, so  I'm open to your suggestions ;)

And now, while I haven't been back in the real world very long, I have rounded up some fun links below:

I think we all secretly wish we were Parisian....but alas, that is not reality. French skincare secrets? Now that's something we actually can incorporate into our lives.

After about 30 seconds in Hawaii, I abandoned all makeup and thoughts of styling my hair. Wet hairstyles are now my jam!

For all my fellow Game of Thrones fans out there: if GoT was released in the 80s. Laughed so hard!

Refinery29 wrote an amazing piece on how fashion blogging has changed recently...perhaps for the worse. Let me know what you think about this one in the comments below, as I'd love to chat about this.

I have no idea what's going on over at DKNY, but I'm quite started by the fact that they've wiped their social media accounts. And now Aliza Licht is leaving. Good on Aliza for being so successful with her AMAZING book...and I think DKNY has made a really bad move.

What are you up to this weekend?

  1. I know what you mean, post holiday blues are the worst! Looking forward to your Hawaii posts!! x

    Jasmin Charlotte

    1. Thanks Jasmin. Glad someone else can relate to those blues

  2. K, yes, the 70s fashions. I have my issues as well. With flares in particular. I can, however, embrace suede and see that working well with your style. You seem to enjoy some bold patterns too. For myself, I will probably be sporting skinny scarves and more suede this season.

I look forward to your fall wardrobe reveal! I'm sure that it will be fabby.

    1. Thanks for the suggestions! I'm definitely going to see how I can incorporate suede into my fall style!
