Review - Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation + Under(cover) Primer

Recently, I've had a love hate relationship with foundation. While I've always been a fan of fuller coverage foundations, because of my uneven skin tone and acne scarring, I've never really liked the way they sat on my skin. I used the Hourglass Immaculate Foundation for aaaaages, but still found it somewhat heavy (it's still me go to for a more glam event though). I then fell in love with the Armani Maestro foundation due to lightweight feel, but ability to layer. But more recently, my skin has been loving super light bases, like my beloved Glossier Skin Tint.

When I heard about the new Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation concentrate, I knew I'd have to try it out, because it sounded like the best of both worlds: Lightweight + full coverage. I think I may have found my holy grail foundation!

In a similar mindset to the Cover FX pigment drops (which I tried out in store while in the US, and wasn't a fan), the Marc Jacobs Re(marc)able Foundation Concentrate is supposed to be pure pigment, so you only need a teeny tiny amount to achieve full coverage. It's also oil-free, and super lightweight.

I had this applied at my local Sephora to test it out before taking the plunge, and was shocked that the makeup artist had actually put anything on my face because it felt so weightless! I wore it for the rest of the day, and by the time I went to remove my makeup, it was still looking flawless. Another test it passed was that it lasted through a moisture-sucking flight, a day of sightseeing in Boston in the heat, and through my fancy work dinner... without any touch-ups. Gold star!

However, I must say that I think the true star is the Under(cover) primer that was released in conjunction with the foundation. Coconut? Check. Moisturizing? Check. Feels amazing? Check, check, check! This stuff basically feels like skincare, which makes it awesome in my books, but I've tried it out with other bases as well and it definitely adds to the longevity.

Have you checked out this new base duo from Marc Jacobs beauty yet? What's your Holy Grail foundation?

  1. Sounds ideal! I hate heavy foundations so usually go for the super lightweight ones but usually they dont give a whole load of coverage! x

    1. This one is a great balance between coverage and finish!

  2. The primer bottle is so small, how much if it do you need to use when you're using the foundation?
•Do you mix it with the foundation or do you apply it to your face before the foundation?

    1. I use just less than 1 pump, and apply before foundation :)

  3. Thanks for your quick response!

  4. You definitely come with exceptional articles and reviews.
