OOTD - A little bit 70s

10.11.15

What are your feelings on the 70s? I think the 60s may be more my thing (Sean Connery as James Bond, Jaguar E Types, The Beatles!), but I'm trying to embrace the current 70s fashion trend, even if just in a small way. While this dress may not scream 70s, add a floppy hat and some coppery eyeshadow, and we're about as close to the 70s as I'm going to get! Keep reading for more photos and outfit details.

Dress - Aritzia, Trench - Topshop (old, similar), Purse - Zac Zac Posen (similar), Booties - Ash (similar), Hat - H&M (old, similar)

Burgundy/maroon has definitely been my go-to shade this season. I think I may have gone a tad overboard, but at least it's injected some much-needed color into my fall wardrobe. For a moment if brought back awful memories of high school gym uniforms past (*shudder*), but I quickly got over that and embraced it as this seasons must-have shade. It's everywhere!

I'm trying to love the 70s, I really am, but I'm a 60s gal all the way. Give me a mod mini dress and let me channel my inner Audrey! Make sure you check out my gal pal Joelle's blog though, as her 70s style is on point! I may need to hire her as my stylist for this season ;)

  1. I absolutely love this style on you - so retro! That dress is my favourite, I have it in black and now really want it in maroon!

  3. Love this! But I'm pretty sure I've already raved about my love of burgundy and maroon to you. :) I'm definitely more of a 60's person myself, but I'm also trying to figure out how to incorporate the 70's trend into my closet. This'll definitely have to be some inspiration!

    1. I'm sure 60s style will be back before we know it, and then we'll be two happy campers :). I could see you in a cute floppy hat! Subtle 70 style!
